How to Import Grade Rosters in Faculty Grade Entry

Please Note: Faculty can enter grades in Banner using Faculty Grade Entry by importing an Excel file.  If at any point you have questions during the grading process, you are welcome to contact the Office of the Registrar (417-836-5520).

Exporting Your Grade Roster from Blackboard Grade Center (Recommended)

Follow the instruction guide How to Use Blackboard Grade Center Download for Faculty Grade Entry to export your grades.  Return to this page to continue the instructions on importing your file.

NOTE: There is a recent defect in Faculty Grade Entry that requires you to include a column on your spreadsheet that is mapped to the Narrative Grade Comments field.  Please add a blank column on your spreadsheet with a column heading of "comments" before proceeding.

  1. Log in to My Missouri State and search for the Grading card.
  2. Click the Submit Grades link.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  3. Click the tools icon in the upper right corner.

  4. Select Import.
  5. When the Import Grades wizard opens, click Browse and find your file.

  6. Click Upload.
  7. Click Continue.
  8. Preview your file. If your file has column headers, make sure the My Spreadsheet has headers box is checked. If it does not have headers, make sure the box is unchecked.
  9. Click Continue.
  10. If your column headers are different than the column headers in the Faculty Grade Entry page, you will need to map your columns so they import correctly.
  11. Use the drop down menu above each column to choose the type of data that is displayed in each column. The Term Code, Student ID and CRN columns must be mapped to activate the continue button.

    Due to the recent defect found in Faculty Grade Entry, you will also need to map the column named "comments" that you added to your spreadsheet above to the Narrative Grade Comments field in order to successfully upload your grades.

  12. Click Continue.
  13. Validate the data in the worksheet. The import wizard will give you a list of data that is going to be imported.
  14. Click Continue.
  15. Once the import has successfully finished, you will get a notification at the top of the import wizard page.

  16. From this page, you can download a validation report that will give you more information about the import, specifically which records were imported successfully and which records had errors.
  17. Click Finish.
