How to Edit an Assessment

Getting to the Assessment Canvas

When you create a new assessment, Blackboard will automatically take you to your Assessment Canvas, where you can add questions. If it doesn't, you exit the Assessment Canvas on accident, or just want to edit questions, you can always return to the Canvas.

  1. First, go to where the assessment lives. Click the gray chevron next to the name of the assessment and then click Edit.
Click the down arrow next to the assessment to access the contextual menu and select edit.

  2. Click Assessment Canvas.
Select Assessment Canvas from the menu.

Reordering Questions

On the Assessment Canvas, if you hover over the left side of a question your cursor will turn into a cross-hair icon and you can then click the question and move it to the vertical position you would like it.
Hover over the assessment on the left until you see a verticle purple rectangle.

Changing Criteria

  1. From the Assessment Canvas, click on the gray chevron that appears to the right of the question title. From the subsequent drop down menu click Criteria.
Click on the down arrow next to the question and select criteria from the menu.

  2. You can then choose to Edit or Delete the criteria you have set up for that question. For more information on criteria go to the How to Add Criteria page.
Select edit from the Criteria menu.

Editing Properties

  1. Go to the page where the assessment is located and, after clicking the gray chevron next to the assessment name, click Edit.
    edit link
