Your BearPass Password is used to log in to many Missouri State University systems, including your email account, campus computers, the My Missouri State portal, and Blackboard. This guide is to help you change your BearPass Password when it has expired or if you are having issues with your account. University BearPass account passwords expire every 120 days from the last password change. Typically, alerts are sent to University email accounts when your password is about to expire and prompt you to change the password.
Step-by-Step Guide

Navigate to missouristate.edu/passwordreset.
-
Enter your Office 365 username under User ID and enter the security characters, then click Next.

-
Select the I forgot my password option and click Next.

Choose the first method for how you would like to verify your identity. The options you see will be based on the verification methods you set up on your account, so you will be able to choose from approving a notification in the Microsoft Authenticator app, entering a code from the Authenticator app, a call/text to your mobile phone, or an email sent to your personal email address.

-
Approve a notification on my authenticator app: Click Send Notification to receive a push notification on your mobile device.

-
Enter a code from my authenticator app: open the Microsoft Authenticator app or the 3rd-party authenticator app that you use.
-
On the webpage, enter the code that appears below your username in the app, and then click Next.

Please Note: If you are unable to change your BearPass password and have confirmed your desired new password meets complexity requirements, you will need to use your security questions to change your BearPass password. This can be done by following the next steps in the guide.
If you forgot your old password, or if your old password expired, you may choose to change your password by answering your security questions. If you haven't set up security questions, you will need to obtain a confirmation code to set them up.
