Many users utilize multiple displays to be more productive. See below for more information about configuring multiple displays.

Accessing and Modifying Windows Display Settings

  • To access the display settings tool, right click anywhere on the desktop to open an options menu. From this menu, select "Display Settings."
  • The display settings window shows information about your current display configuration. The screenshots below show an example of an extended desktop configuration (left) as well as a duplicated desktop (right).

    • The "Rearrange your displays" section allows you to do just that - click and drag the numbered screens and orient them to match the physical orientation of your monitors. The "Identify" button will show the display numbers on the screens. The "Detect" button will attempt to detect any displays that are connected but don't appear in the displays window. This often occurs when using a docking station. After changes are made, use the Apply/Cancel options on the left side of the interface. (click on image below) Click Apply to accept the changes.  Click Cancel to return to the original settings.

  • Further south on the Display Settings window you will find options to change the scale and layout and to manage multiple displays. Recommended scale and layout settings will be fine for most users. The Multiple displays section will allow you to toggle between extended desktop and duplicated desktop, and select your primary display.

Please Note:
These settings may need to be revisited when moving between a laptop and a docking station.
