How to Add the My Grades Tool

The My Grades page allows students to view posted grades and the status of gradable items. My Grades may include item names, details, due dates, student and instructor dates of activity, posted grades, points possible, links to rubrics used for grading and instructor's feedback about the items. The following steps will assist with creating a My Grades link in the course menu:

How to Add the My Grades Tool

  1. Click on the plus sign in the upper left corner of the Course Menu.
  2. From the Contextual Menu select Tool Link
    Click the plus sign at the top of the course menu and select Tool Link.
     
  3. Give the link a name (ex. My Grades).
    Give the tool link a name.
     
  4. Select the tool Type to add from the drop-down menu.
    Select My Grades for the tool Type.
     
  5. Be sure to make the link available to users by checking the Available to Users box. If you do not do this students will not be able to see the Tool Link and won’t have access to that content.
    Click the check box to make the link available to students.
     
  6. Click Submit.
  7. The My Grades link will then appear at the bottom of the course menu. Drag and drop the link to the appropriate location in the course menu.
     
Please Note: As an instructor if you click on My Grades in a course, you will have access to what a student sees in My Grades without any grading data.
