How to Activate and Sign In with Your Missouri State Account

To activate your Missouri State Account, you will need your M-Number and Activation Code.

If you do not know your Activation Code, please see I don't know my Activation Code.

1. Go to the Account Management page.

2. Select the Activate Your account.

   

3. Enter your M-Number and Activation Code.

   
   Please Note: If you don't know your Activation Code, you can select the check box next to I don't know my Activation Code and the code will be emailed to the address we have on file for you. See more below at I don't know my Activation Code. 
4. Click Submit.
5. You will see your Missouri State Account and Account ID listed at the top of the page. This will typically be your initials followed by 1-4 numbers, and it will have an "s" at the end if you are a student or an "e" if you are an employee. 
6. Enter and confirm a Recovery Email Address. This cannot be a Missouri State email address.
   

7. Create and confirm your Missouri State Password. See Missouri State Account Password Requirements for creating a secure password.

8. Your account has been successfully activated. You will receive an email confirming your account was successfully activated. It will take up to 30 minutes before you can log into any resources using your Missouri State Account.

I don't know my Activation Code

1.  If you don't know your Activation Code, you can select the check box next to I don't know my Activation Code and the code will be emailed to the address we have on file for you.
    

2. If you don't have an email address on file or you don't recognize the email address listed, contact the office listed below (The image below is an example showing where to look for the email address the code was sent to and which department to call. You will see different contact information depending on your status and department).
   

3. If you are unable to request your Activation Code via email in the steps above, you have the following options:

• If you are a student, contact the department who admitted you. This information should be listed in your admission packet.

• If you are an employee, contact Human Resources at 417-836-5102 or HumanResources@MissouriState.edu.

1. From the Missouri State login page, enter your Missouri State Account and click Next. Depending on when your account was created, your Missouri State Account could be in any of the following formats:

   • AccountID@Login.MissouriState.edu

   • AccountID@Live.MissouriState.edu

   • AccountID@MissouriState.edu
     
     

2. Enter your Missouri State Account password and click Sign In.
   
   
3. If this is the first time you are signing in with your Missouri State Account, you will be prompted to complete your Account Security Information. See How to Set Up Your Account Security Information.
   
    
4. For subsequent sign ins, you will be prompted to authenticate with a second method, either a phone call, text, or authenticator app.
   
    
5. If you are unable to authenticate with your preferred option you will be able to choose another authentication method from your selected options. Simply select Sign in another way to use a different method.
   
    
6. Choose one of the available options to approve your sign-on attempt.
   
    

Please Note: How often you are required to authenticate depends on several factors, including whether you are using a new device, a different browser, a browser in private/incognito mode, etc. You will be prompted to approve sign-in requests for every device that you log in with, including your work computer, laptop, mobile phone, tablet, etc. At a minimum, you will be prompted to authenticate your log ins to Admin Banner every seven (7) hours.
