Step-by-Step Guide
How to Enter a Student's Information
- Log into My Missouri State and search for the Enterprise Software card.

- Click the Admin Banner link.
- Type SHAINST in the Search... field, then hit the enter key.
- Type the student's M number in the ID field
- Tab to the Term field. If you know the semester that the student was suspended, enter the term here in Banner format (YYYYxx: YYYY= four digit designated calendar year, xx= 20 for spring semester, 30 for summer semester, and 40 for fall semester, i.e. 201920 for spring semester 2019) and skip to step 6. If you don't know the term, follow these steps:
- Click on the ellipse symbol next to the term field

- In the Option List, select Term Summary (SHQTERM).

- Click the Start Over button or hit the F5 key on your keyboard.
- Make sure that the only information filled in on the top menu is the ID.

- Click Go or hit the AltPageDown keys on your keyboard.
- Search for the most recent term in the History Term column.
Please Note: There may be multiple pages of academic standing history.
- With the desired term selected, click Select.

- Click Go or hit the AltPageDown keys on your keyboard.
- Choose the appropriate code from the Scholastic Action Options table below and type that code in the End of Term Academic Standing field.

Good Standing |
The student is not on probation or suspension.
Both MSU cumulative and combined cumulative GPAs are 2.00 or higher, and their semester GPA is above 1.00. |
P |
Academic Probation |
The student has been placed on probation.
Either MSU cumulative GPA or combined GPA is below 2.00, or their semester GPA is 1.00 or lower. |
R |
Suspended-Return on Probation |
Dean has given the student permission to continue taking classes despite being placed on suspension. |
S |
Academic Suspension |
The student has been placed on suspension.
Semester GPA below 1.00 and MSU or combined GPA less than 2.00; or semester GPA less than 2.00 while on probation, unless both cumulative and combined GPA are above 2.00; or student has earned a semester GPA less than 1.00 for two consecutive semesters. |
- Click Save or hit the F10 key on your keyboard.
- Click Start Over or hit the F5 key on your keyboard to move to the next student.
