How to Install or Uninstall an Application with Software Center

Software Center is used to distribute applications to Missouri State University owned computers joined to the Missouri State domain.

To open Microsoft Software Center, click the Start Button and type Software Center, or click All Apps, expand the Microsoft System Center folder to find Software Center.

Depending on whether you want to install or uninstall a particular program, scroll down the the relevant section.

 

Installation

  1. Click on the software you wish to install.

  2. Click Install to begin the download and installation process. There can be some delay here.

    Please Note:
    Some Applications have multiple components that need to be installed (ex. Adobe Creative Suites). Each component may prompt for a reboot.

    Some Applications may show additional windows during the installation process. 

    After a reboot, there will be a delay before Software Center becomes available, as services for Software Center are starting.

  3. If the computer must be restarted, you will be prompted to do so.

  4. Congratulations! Your application will now appear in Application Status as Installed.

Uninstallation

  1. Click Installation Status tab on the left.

  2. To uninstall listed software, select the software and click Uninstall in the lower right corner.

  3. Congratulations! Your application has been uninstalled from System Center!
