How to Change Your Alumni Account Password

If you are not a current student, faculty, or staff member, you can use the Computer Account Management System (CAMS) to change your Missouri State Account password. 

Changing your Password Using your Current Password or a Temporary Password

If you know your current account password and it is not expired, or if you have been issued a temporary password by the Help Desk, you can use the instructions below to change your Missouri State Account Password.

  1. Go to MissouriState.edu/Account
  2. Look for the yellow box that says "Not a current student or employee? Click here to reset your password." Select the link to change your password.

  3. On the Change Your Password page, select I remember my current password.

  4. Enter your Missouri State Account ID, old or temporary password, and the new password you've chosen. Then click Submit. See Missouri State Account Password Requirements for how to create a secure password.

  5. You will be directed to a new page, and a highlighted line of text should appear at the top of the page that reads "Your Login password has been successfully changed."  

  6. Go to my.missouristate.edu to log in.

Please Note: If you are unable to change your Missouri State Account password and have confirmed your desired new password meets complexity requirements, you will need to request a temporary password or use your security questions to change your Missouri State Account password. This can be done by following the below instructions.

Changing your Alumni Account Password Using your Security Questions

If you set up security questions, you may choose to change your password by answering your security questions. If you haven't set up security questions, you will need to request a temporary password from the Help Desk.

  1. Go to MissouriState.edu/Account
  2. Look for the yellow box that says "Not a current student or employee? Click here to reset your password." Select the link to change your password.

  3. On the Change Your Password page, select I don't remember my password.

  4. Enter your Missouri State Account ID and select Next.  
  5. Your recovery (non-MSU) email address will be displayed. If the address is correct, click “Yes, send verification code” and go to Step 5; otherwise, click “No”
    1. If “No” is selected, contact the Computer Services Help Desk for assistance.
  6. An account recovery verification code was emailed to your recovery email address. Open a new tab in your internet browser (or open a new browser window) to access that email account. Open the email from the Computer Services Help Desk with the temporary verification code, which is valid for a short length of time. Copy the verification code.

  7. Go back to the browser tab with the "Change Your Password" page.

  8. On the “Change Your Password” page, you will be required to enter four (4) pieces of information. All answers are required.Screenshot of the recover account access page.

    1. Answer to a randomly selected Security Question. (If you do not remember the answer to the security question, you can rotate to a different question by clicking Give me a different question.)

    2. Enter the Verification Code that was sent to your recovery email address.

    3. Enter a new password (at least 12 characters, case-sensitive, and cannot be the same as your last four passwords).

    4. Confirm your new password.

  9. Click Submit. Your account password has been reset.

  10. You will be directed back to the Change Password Options page, and a highlighted line of text should appear at the top of the page that reads "Your Login password has been successfully changed." Go to my.missouristate.edu to log in.
