How to Share PowerPoint Slides in Blackboard Collaborate Ultra

Share PowerPoint File

Please Note:  For the best overall experience choose Share Files. However, if you have animations in a presentation or if you are sharing online resources inside your presentation you will want to choose Share Application.
  1. Log-in to Blackboard.
  2. Access Blackboard Collaborate Ultra from Course Tools or from your course menu.
  3. From the Blackboard Collaborate Ultra platform, locate the session and click Join session.
  4. Open the Collaborate Panel.
  5. Click Share Content icon at the bottom of the panel.
  6. Select Share Files.

  7. Add your PowerPoint file. You can upload files up to 60MB in size.
    Drag and drop your file from you computer or click "add files" to browse for the file.
  8. After uploading, click on the file and select Share Now.
    Click on the file and select Share Now.
  9. The Slide Navigator panel will show all of your slides. Select a slide to start sharing it.

    Please Note: Each slide is optimized so that all attendees can view quality slides no matter their network connection. More than one presentation or file can be uploaded at a time. Uploaded presentations and files will stay available in the session until deleted by a moderator.
  10. Use the Slide Navigator tool to move through the presentation. Collaborate editing tools are also available to annotate on your slides.

    Use the Collaborate editing tool bar in the top left to annotate on your slides.
  11. Click Stop Sharing to no longer share your presentation.
    Click stop sharing in the top right corner of the screen.


Share PowerPoint Application

Set up your presentation before select to share it in Blackboard Collaborate

  1. Set up your PowerPoint slide show.
    Please Note:  For the best experience don't use Normal view of full screen views for your presentations. Share your slides in a re-sizable window.
    1. Select Slide Show from the PowerPoint menu ribbon.
    2. Click on Set Up Slide Show.
      Click on Slide Show from the menu ribbon to access Set Up Slide Show.

    3. Select Browsed by an individual (window) and click Ok.  When in presentation mode, this will open your presentation in a re-sizable window.
      Click on Browsed by an individual window to present in a re-sizable window for Collaborate.
  2. Start your presentation.
    Click on Play from Start to begin your PPT presentation.
  3. Follow steps 1-5 listed above.
  4. Select Share Application/Screen.
    Click Share Application/Screen to begin setting up your screen sharing with a PowerPoint.

  5. Give the browser permisson to share your screen with Blackboard Collaborate by clicking Allow.
  6. Select Share Application and choose PowerPoint.
    Select the Window or Application you would like to share.
  7. Click Share.
