How to Copy or Move Course Content

In Blackboard, you have the option to copy and move content to different areas of your course, or even to another course.

How to Copy or Move Course Content
 

To Copy a Content Item to the Same Course

  1. Make sure you have Edit mode ON.
    Turn editing mode on.
     
  2. Hover your mouse over the course item you wish to copy. Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the item name. Then click Copy.
    Click on the drop-down arrow next to the content item and select copy.
     
  3. On the Copy page, in the Destination Course list, make sure that you are looking at the course name where the item is currently located (we are copying to the same course).
  4. Click Browse to choose the Destination Folder from the pop-up menu. Note that these folders correspond to the content areas in your Course Menu.
    Click Browse to select a destination for your copy.
     
  5. When you are finished, click Submit.
     

To Copy a Content Item to a Different Course

  1. Make sure you have the Edit mode On.

  2. Hover your mouse over the item you wish to copy. Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the item name. Then click Copy.

  3. On the Copy page, in the Destination Course list, select the course you want to copy the item to.
    Select the course you want to copy the content to.
     
  4. Click Browse to find a Destination Folder in the course you selected. Note that these folders correspond to the content areas in your Course Menu.

  5. When you are finished, click Submit.
     

Items That Cannot be Copied

Items that are tied to the Grade Center such as Assignments, Tests, and Surveys cannot be copied through the contextual menu. These items must be copied using the Course Copy feature.
 

To Move a Content Item in the Same Course

  1. Make sure you have the Edit mode ON.

  2. Hover your mouse over the item you wish to move. Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the item name and then click Move.
    Click the drop-down arrow next to the content and select move from the menu.
     
  3. On the Move page, in the Destination Course list, make sure that you are looking at the course name where the item is currently located (we are moving within the same course).
  4. Click Browse to choose the Destination Folder from the pop-up menu.. Note that these folders correspond to the content areas in your Course Menu.

  5. When you are finished, click Submit.
     

To Move a Content Item to a Different Course

Please Note:  If you want copies of an item in both courses, you will want to use the Copy feature, not the Move feature.
