How to Modify Grading Periods

Grading periods can associate any column or group of columns for easy organization. They can be created for a period of time, term, semester, quarter or other shared characteristics. Using Grading periods can assist instructors with filtering the Grade Center, calculating grades, creating a smart view or creating reports. Follow the directions below to modify a grading period.

How to Modify a Grading Period

  1. From the Control Panel, click Grade Center, and then click Full Grade Center.

  2. Point to Manage, and then click Grading Periods.
    Select Grading Periods from Manage.
     
  3. Click Create Grading Period.

  4. In the Name box, type a name for this grading period.
  5. In the Description text area, type a description for the grading period, if you wish.

  6. Select a range for the grading period, if you wish. For example, you could choose the range of dates up to the midterm.
  7. Select if you want to Associate this Grading Period with all columns that have a Due Date within this date range.

  8. Review your settings, and then click Submit.

You will see the grading period you created added to the Grading Period page.

 

To edit the grading period

  1. On the Grading Periods page, find the grading period you wish to edit.
  2. Next to the grading period, click to open the Contextual Menu, and then click Edit.
    Select edit from the Grade Period's context menu.
     
  3. Make the changes you wish to the grading period, and then click Submit.
