What is a VPN
The purpose of the VPN is to provide a secure, encrypted connection for transferring data. It allows faculty, staff, and students to conveniently access many network resources from off-campus. These resources include certain University systems, file servers, internal websites, and workstations. When a computer connects to Missouri State’s VPN, it is treated as part of the MSU network—even if the device is off-campus or using a different internet service provider.
How do I connect to the VPN?
The VPN client supported by the University is called GlobalConnect.
- Request VPN Access: Before you can connect to Missouri State's VPN, you must first be granted permission. Use this form to Request VPN Access.
- Install and Connect: Once access is granted, you can use the guides below to install and connect to the VPN to your Windows or MacOS computer.
