This article provides comprehensive guidance for deploying projects in Watermark Course Evaluations & Surveys. It is divided into two sections: Final Checklist, which helps confirm that all project settings are correct before deployment, and Deployment Steps, which outline how to deploy a project once it has been configured.
Deploying Watermark Projects: Final Checklist and Deployment Steps
Before You Begin
Ensure all project properties, courses, users, surveys, communications, and report settings have been reviewed and confirmed. Once deployed, changes may be limited.
Final Checklist (Required Before Deployment)
This checklist should be completed before deploying a Watermark project to ensure all project settings are accurate and complete.
Properties Tab
- Confirm Start Date is correct
- Confirm End Date is correct
NOTE: Start Date should be the first business day after the last-drop deadline for first block, full semester, or second block courses. End Date is when the term ends for the block or semester.
Courses Tab
- Confirm number of courses is correct
- Confirm instructor counts are correct
NOTE: If multiple instructors are listed in the Instructor column for a course, confirm that the instructor assignments are correct before proceeding.
- Confirm last course sync was less than 2 weeks before deployment date.

Users Tab
- Confirm that a data refresh was scheduled.
- Select Data Import.
- Select Brightspace from the drop down menu.

- If the screen shows No Enrollment Refresh Scheduled, stop and resolve before deployment.

Survey Tab
- Confirm correct survey is selected under Main Survey.
- If incorrect, select Change Selected Survey before proceeding with the next step.
Communication Tab
- Confirm dates and times are accurate for emails.

Survey Invitation & Announcement Email: scheduled for 9:00 AM on project start date
- Non‑Respondent Email: scheduled for 9:00 AM on the configured reminder dates
- Results Notification Email: scheduled for 9:00 AM when final grades are available
- All communication dates must be accurate before deployment.
Report Setup Tab
- Confirm reporting access dates are correct. Access Start date is when final grades are available.

Deploy Project Tab
- Verify Project Survey Enrollments number is accurate.
- Confirm enrollment totals match expected course participation.
- If any numbers are unexpected, do not deploy until resolved.
ONCE ALL ITEMS ABOVE ARE CONFIRMED, PROCEED TO THE DEPLOYMENT STEPS SECTION
Deployment Steps
- Log in to Watermark Course Evaluations & Surveys and select Surveys & Projects.
- Choose Projects, then locate the project you are ready to deploy.
- Click on the project name to open it.
- Select the Deploy Project tab.
- Click Deploy.
- Select OK.

Once deployed, the project becomes active and scheduled communications are delivered according to the configured dates. Most project settings will be locked after deployment.
