This guide will help you set up your printer properties so that you will be able to print either single or double sided. The computers in the Open Access Labs are set to print double sided automatically. Each printer is different and while these instructions will work in the computer labs on campus they might not work for your printer at home.
Please Note: These guides were made to work in conjunction with the Open Access Lab printers. The steps will be similar for other printers, but the process varies a bit by printer model.
Please Note: Even though this guide is for Microsoft Word, other Microsoft Office products and applications where printing is possible will have a similar appearance.
- In Microsoft Word, click File at the top left of the screen.
- Select Print from the menu that appears.
- Under the Finishing tab, there is the Print On Both Sides option. Click on this option to print double sided or leave it unchecked to print single sided.
Please Note: While in Microsoft Word for Mac the Menu Bar at the top of the screen will have options related to Microsoft Word.
- To print, click File > Print. You can also press ⌘ + P on your keyboard to print.

- A Print dialogue box will appear. Click on the drop-down menu that says Copies & Pages.

- From the menu, select Layout.

- The dialogue box will change. Click on drop-down menu next to Two-Sided.
