Print Double or Single Sided

This guide will help you set up your printer properties so that you will be able to print either single or double sided. The computers in the Open Access Labs are set to print double sided automatically. Each printer is different and while these instructions will work in the computer labs on campus they might not work for your printer at home.

Please Note: These guides were made to work in conjunction with the Open Access Lab printers. The steps will be similar for other printers, but the process varies a bit by printer model.

Microsoft Office 365 Word App

Please Note: Even though this guide is for Microsoft Word, other Microsoft Office products will have a similar appearance.

In Microsoft Office Word click File at the top left of the screen.
Select Print from the menu that appears.
Click Print.
Click the down arrow next to More settings to view additional printing options.
Click the check box for double-sided and select the binding option or leave it unchecked for single-sided printing.

Microsoft Office for Windows

In Microsoft Office, click the File button in the top-left corner.
Select Print from the File menu.
Click Properties.
Under the Finishing tab, there is the Print On Both Sides option. Check this box to print double sided or leave it unchecked to print single sided.

Microsoft Office for Mac

Please Note: While in Office for Mac the Menu Bar at the top of the screen will have options related to Office.

To print, click File > Print. You can also press ⌘ + P on your keyboard to print.
A Print dialogue box will appear. Click on the drop-down menu that says Copies & Pages.
From the menu, select Layout.
The dialogue box will change. Click on drop-down menu next to Two-Sided.
Select the preferred binding option. Then click Print.

Printing Multiple Pages per Sheet

This guide will help you set up your printer properties so that you will be able to print multiple pages on a single sheet of paper.. The computers in the Open Access Labs are set to print one page per sheet automatically. Each printer is different and while these instructions will work in the computer labs on campus they might not work for your printer at home.

Please Note: Even though this guide is for Microsoft Word, other Microsoft Office products will have a similar appearance.

In the Microsoft Office 365 Word Application click File at the top left of the screen.
Select Print from the menu that appears.
Click Print.
Under More settings change the number of Pages per sheet.

Microsoft Office for Windows

Click the File Tab on Microsoft Word
Select Print in the drop-down menu.
To print more than one page per sheet, set the desired number of pages in the drop-down menu.

Microsoft Office for Mac

Please Note: While in Office for Mac, the Menu Bar at the top of the screen will have options related to Office.

To print, click File > Print. You can also press ⌘ + P on your keyboard to print.
A Print dialogue box will appear. Click on the drop down menu that says Copies & Pages.
From the menu, select Layout.
Click the drop-down menu next to Pages per Sheet.
Choose the number of pages desired from the list. Then click Print.

Print Multiple PowerPoint Slides per Sheet

This guide will help you set up your PowerPoint slides to fit multiple slides per page to make it easier for note taking and to save paper.

Microsoft Office PowerPoint App

In the Microsoft Office PowerPoint Application click File at the top left of the screen.
Select Print from the menu that appears.
Select Print Full Page Slides.
Expand the More Options menu and select select the number of Pages per sheet.

PowerPoint for Windows

For PowerPoint, click the File tab at the top left.
Select Print from the drop-down menu.
Click Full Page Slides and select the layout you want.
Click Print and your pages will print.

PowerPoint for Mac

Please Note: While in Office for Mac, the Menu Bar at the top of the screen will have options related to Office.

Click on File in the Apple Menu Bar, and in the drop-down click Print.
Click Show Details button if the print details are not displayed.
Click the Layout drop down menu and select the number of slides per page. Then click Print at the bottom of the window.
