Student Participation Verification

Missouri State uses the Course Participation Verification tool to help instructors confirm whether each student in their course has begun participating. This supports the university’s federal financial aid record keeping requirements (Title IV / Last Date of Attendance). Completing this verification promptly each term helps ensure students’ financial aid isn’t delayed or affected.

Faculty can access the tool on the Faculty Schedule and Assignments card in my.missouristate.edu starting the Wednesday of the first week of classes.

The course participation tool will default to your first listed course.

  1. Select an appropriate verification for each student.

NOTE: You can use the Verify All checkbox to mark all students as Verified and then adjust only students who have not been participating as Not Verified.

  1. Click the Submit button on the top right.

  1. Review the confirmation message and click the Submit button.

You will receive a final confirmation of the actions taken. If you receive a failure message please submit a ticket so we can get you the fastest possible assistance.

When you have confirmed, you will return to the page and the students you have verified will now be reflected in the list.

  1. Select your next course from the listing at the top of the screen and continue until all of your courses have been verified.

NOTE: You can return to the page until Census (September 21st for Fall 2026) to verify any students who were not yet participating when you did initial verification. If you verify a student that should not have been verified, please contact VerifyParticipation@missouristate.edu so the financial aid team can make a correction.
