Connect your iOS device, Android, Mac, Windows, and Chromebook to Missouri State’s wireless network.
Which Network to Use:
MSU Open: Visiting in the PSU, Welcome Center, or the Library.
MSU: Faculty, staff, and students living off-campus.
MSU Residential: Students living on campus.
MSU Sponsored: Departmental guest access (must get key from Networking and Telecommunication).
Connect to the MSU Open Wi-Fi Network
The MSU Open network is available for all university visitors, but is mainly targeted at prospective new students and their families. MSU Open is available in the Meyer Library, Plaster Student Union, and the Welcome Center. The password (pre-shared key) is public, and changes infrequently. You can access the Internet and limited MSU resources using this network.
- Navigate to your device's Wi-Fi or Network settings menu. There are guides for each type of popular device available for your reference.
- Select MSU Open.
- Enter the Current Pre-Shared Key: Welcome2MSU
Connect to the MSU Wi-Fi Network
The MSU Wi-Fi network is available, at no cost to the individual or department, to all University staff, faculty, and students. See Coverage Areas for information about the buildings and areas where you can connect to the MSU Wi-Fi network.

When prompted, enter the following information to connect.
- EAP Method: PEAP
- Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPv2
- CA Certificate: Do Not Validate
- User Certificate: Unspecified
- Identity: Your Missouri State Account ID (abc123)
- West Plains Campus: use MissouriStateAccountID@wp
- Anonymous Identity: Leave Blank
- Password: Your Password
Please Note: If you are prompted to enter a Domain name, enter missouristate.edu in the field. Not all versions of Android OS require this.

When prompted, enter your Missouri State Account ID (abc123) and Password, then tap Join.
- West Plains Campus: use MissouriStateAccountID@wp
Please Note: You may need to tap Trust to accept the server certificate.

When prompted, enter the following information then click Join.
- Username: Missouri State Account ID (abc123)
- West Plains Campus: use MissouriStateAccountID@wp
- Password: Your Password
Please Note: You may be asked to verify the network security certificate. If prompted, click Continue and enter your computer password.

Troubleshooting Wireless Issues
Problem: My Credentials Won't Authenticate Access
I type in my user name and password and I still can't access Wi-Fi.
- Make sure you are using the correct password, and that is not expired.
- Make sure you are attempting to connect to the correct wireless network.
- Remove any old or expired credentials from your device (see Expired or Corrupted Credentials).
Problem: Wireless Network Doesn't Let Me Enter My Credentials
I am not given the option to type in my user name and password.
- Make sure you remove all saved passwords in either Windows Credential Manager or the Mac Keychain (see Expired or Corrupted Credentials).
- Try forgetting/removing the network you are trying to connect to and setting it up again.
Problem - Expired or Corrupted Credentials
My credentials aren't working.
For MacOS:
- Open Spotlight by clicking the magnifying glass in the upper right or by tapping ⌘Command + Spacebar
- Type Keychain Access and click the first option.
- Search for and remove items related to Missouri State or MSU.
For Windows:
- Click Start or tap the Windows button.
- Type Credential Manager and select it.
- Select Windows Credentials.
- Search for and remove items related to Missouri State or MSU.
