Problem

If you experience login issues when trying to access your course list on Blackboard while using Respondus 4.0 Exam Author, you can upload your Test or Pool manually.

Solutions

Create a Blackboard compatible .zip file of a Respondus test

If you experience login issues when trying to access your course list on Blackboard while using Respondus 4.0 Exam Author, you can upload your Test or Pool manually.

  1. In the Publish Wizard, select Save pool to local file for manual uploading. Click Next.

  2. On Step 1, select Save As... to choose a location on your computer to save the .zip file that will be created.
  3. After you choose where to save the file, edit the file name to remove any spaces or special characters. Click Save.
  4. On Step 2 in the Publish Wizard, choose if your file is a Pool or a Test. Click Finish to save the file.

Upload the .zip file to Blackboard.

  1. Log into Blackboard and access the course where you want to use the test or pool.
  2. Under Course Management, select Course Tools and then Test, Surveys and Pools.

  3. Choose Tests or Pools, depending on the type of file you saved.

Pools
  1. On the Pools page, select Import Pool at the top of the page.

  2. Select Browse My Computer to locate the file.
  3. Select the file and click Submit (it might say Choose or Open, depending on your browser).
  4. You will see a confirmation screen that the file has been uploaded. Click OK at the bottom of the page to return to the Pools area and see your new Pool in the list.

  5. You can not create a test using this Pool.
Tests
  1. On the Tests page, select Import Test at the top of the page.

  2. Select Browse My Computer to locate the file.
  3. Select the file and click Submit (it might say Choose or Open, depending on your browser).
  4. You will see a confirmation screen that the file has been uploaded. Click OK at the bottom of the page to return to the Tests area and see your new Test in the list.

  5. You can now deploy the test in your course.
Please Note: You may want to review the Test questions before deploying to ensure the point totals for each question are accurate.
