How to Create an Essay Question

1. On the Control Panel click Course Tools, and then click Tests, Surveys, and Pools.
   
    
2. Click Tests.
3. Click the contextual menu on the test you want to edit, and then click Edit.
   
    
4. Point to Create Question, and then click Essay.
   
    
5. In the Question Title box, type a title for your question.(Optional)
6. In the QuestionText area, type your question.
   
    
7. Because this is an essay question, you do not have to give an answer. If you wish, you can give a sample answer for the students.
8. Add feedback for the answers, if desired.
9. Add question categories, if desired.
10. Add instructor’s notes, if desired, and then click Submit.
