How to Create a Hot Spot Question

Please Note:  Hot Spot questions use coordinates on the user's screen to mark a Correct or Incorrect answer. Therefore, if you use Hot Spot questions in your tests, it is very important that you tell your students not to have their screen zoomed in or out using a magnifier tool.

Step-by-Step Guide

How to Create a Hot Spot Question

  1. On the Control Panel click Course Tools, and then click TestsSurveysand Pools.

  2. Click Tests.
  3. Click the contextual menu on the test you want to edit, and then click Edit.

  4. Point to Create Question, and then click Hot Spot.
    Select a Hot Spot question from the list.

     
  5. In the Question Title box, type a name for your question. (if desired)
  6. In the Question Text area, type your question.

  7. Under Upload Image, click Browse Local Files or click Browse Content Collection to locate a file to upload to the question, and then click Next

  8. Under Answers, click and drag an area on the image to specify a hot spot.

  9. Add feedback for the answers, if desired.
  10. Add question categories, if desired.
  11. Add instructor’s notes, if desired, and then click Submit.
