Customizing Blackboard

This guide will assist you in customizing your main Blackboard landing page to show your most recent enrolled courses and adding a report card module.

Step-by-Step Guide

How to Remove Old Courses from Your My Course Module

You can remove or hide courses from previous semesters from the My Courses Module. This does not remove the course from Blackboard, but hides it from the My Courses view so that you only see the courses you are teaching for the current semester when you first log in to Blackboard.

  1. Click the gear icon in the top right of the My Courses module.
    Editing course module settings.

  2. On the Personalize: My Courses page, click the box to the left of the course name to select all, and then click it again to deselect all. Alternatively, click the boxes on the right to choose exactly which features you will see. Selecting boxes will add to the courses or information that you will be able to see.
Editing the course display settings. Uncheck all boxes to stop seeing the course.

  3. You can also choose the order the courses are listed in the module by moving your cursor to the left of the boxes, until it has a cross hair icon and then dragging the course to the desired position.
  4. When you are finished, click Submit.

How to Add the Report Card Module

There's a module available which can be added to your Blackboard homepage, Report Card. It's a quick and intuitive way to see how you're doing in all of your classes and access the My Grades section of any course.

  1. Go to My Institution on blackboard
    my institution tab

  2. Click Add Module on the top left side of the My Institution screen. This will add the Report Card Module to your My Missouri State Blackboard homepage.
Click Add Module button in the top left.

  3. Click My Blackboard.
    Click My Blackboard category.

  4. Scroll down to Report Card and Click Add.
    display grades message

  5. Returning to the Homepage, you'll see the following module. You can Drag and Drop the module to wherever you'd like it on your homepage.

Report Card Module Features

A grade will appear next to the course name if the instructor for that course has made it available for student view. Clicking on the score will bring you to that course's My Grades section, which will include a more thorough breakdown of your scores in the course.

Please Note:  The Report Card Module does not update in real time, so it is possible for an instructor to update a grade and for it to not be reflected on the report card for up to 24 hours later. If you want the most accurate grade, visit your My Grades page.
