This guide will assist you with logging in and navigating Blackboard with ease.
Please Note: Chromebooks are not a supported device for Blackboard. These devices do not have the capacity to run Java, thus they will give errors and not function properly.
Step-by-Step Guide
The following instructions will help you log in to Blackboard.
Log in in from MSU Homepage
- At the top of the Missouri State homepage, click Log in.
- From the drop-down menu, click Blackboard Learn.
- Select Missouri State University BearPass to log in
- Choose Missouri State Bear Pass from the login options.
- Enter your BearPass user name and password on the login page.
- In Blackboard, access your course from the My Courses module or the Courses tab.
Log in in Directly
- Go to http://blackboard.missouristate.edu.
- Select Missouri State University BearPass.
- Enter your BearPass Login and Password.
Log in from My Missouri State
- Log in to My Missouri State.
- Click the Blackboard Learn in the Quick Links menu.
When you are enrolled in multiple courses you often want to spend time performing the same task for all your classes. Course-to-course navigation lets you jump from one course to post to discussion boards, read blog entries, etc. without having to exit the course and then navigate to another course from the Course tab. This saves times and makes it easier to move from course to course. For example, you are in the discussion board and have finished your work there. You can now jump directly to the discussion board in another course.
- To switch to another course you are enrolled in, click the drop-down arrow next to your course name in the upper left corner.
- Select another course.
- The course you selected will load.
- Notice that when you navigate between courses this way, you stay in the same area or tool in the new course.
Quick Links allows a user to quickly and easily locate any heading or section within Blackboard and jump directly to it.
- Click the Quick Links Icon in the top left corner, or press CTRL+ALT+L.
- Choose the heading you would like. Any available keyboard shortcuts will also be shown.
Blackboard makes it easy to change the language that your course is displayed in. Simply follow these steps.
- Go to the desired course
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and on the left side under control panel, select Customization.
- Select Properties.
- Under Select Language Pack, choose the desired language.
- Check the Enforce Language Pack box to override the students language preference for your course.
- Click submit.
