A "beta" release of a Chromebook extension for LockDown Browser is available for exams delivered in Blackboard Learn. This version of the LockDown Browser Chrome Extension also supports Respondus Monitor. If students need access to Respondus LockDown Browser from a Chromebook, please follow the directions below.

How to Use Respondus LockDown Browser on a Chromebook
Instructors must select the appropriate LockDown Browser settings per test to enable students to use LockDown Browser on a Chromebook.
- To set up Respondus LockDown Browser on a Blackboard test, you must first have the test deployed in your course.
- Next, go to Control Panel > Course Tools > Respondus LockDown Browser to configure the Respondus LockDown Browser settings.
- Click Continue to LockDown Browser.
- From the LockDown Browser Dashboard, locate the desired test and click the down arrow next to the test to select Settings.
- Select Require Respondus LockDown Browser for this exam and click the "+" to expand the menu to access the Advanced Settings.
- Select any additional test settings as needed and click Save + Close to save the test settings.
- Respondus LockDown Browser is now required for students to take the test. Students will need to install the application or extension on their device.
If instructors require students to use Respondus LockDown Browser for a Blackboard test, students will need to install an application or extension on their device. Students using Chromebooks will need to install the LockDown Browser Chrome extension. The instructor must follow the steps above to allow students to take their test using LockDown Browser on a Chromebook.
- Use the download link for MSU to download the LockDown Browser Extension for use with Chromebooks.
Please Note: The LockDown Browser Extension is not available for download from the Chrome Store and can only be downloaded with this link. The download link is unique to Missouri State University.
- Click Add to Chrome to install the extension.
- A confirmation message will appear once the LockDown Browser for Chromebook extension has been installed.
- Once the installation is complete close or restart the Chrome browser.
- Log into Blackboard and navigate to the test that requires Respondus LockDown Browser. If the instructor has allowed the test to use the Chromebook version of LockDown Browser, it will automatically launch the test.
