How to Share LinkedIn Learning Content in Blackboard

LinkedIn Learning is available to all faculty, students, and staff at Missouri State University. You can share LinkedIn Learning content with your students easily within your Blackboard course. There are multiple ways to make this content available in your course:

Step-by-Step Guide

How to Share a LinkedIn Learning Course via Web Link

  1. Access LinkedIn Learning and locate the course you want to share with your students.
  2. Select the course name to open the course.

  3. Select the first video in the course if it isn't selected for you.
  4. Click the share button at the top right of the video then select the Link option.

  5. Copy the link that is shown.

  6. Navigate to your Blackboard course and locate the content area where you would like students to access the LinkedIn Learning course.
  7. Select the Build Content menu and choose the Web Link option.

  8. Give the link a name and then paste the link you copied from LinkedIn Learning into the URL box.

  9. You can add a description for the link to give students more information or instruction, and add file attachments to the link if desired.
  10. Choose your standard options and then click Submit.

  11. The link will appear at the bottom of your content area page.

How to Share a LinkedIn Learning Course via Embed Code

  1. Access LinkedIn Learning and locate the course you want to share with your students.
  2. Select the course name to open the course.
  3. Select the first video in the course if it isn't selected for you. 
  4. Click the share button at the top right of the video then select the Embed option.

  5. Copy the code that is shown.

  6. Navigate to your Blackboard course and locate the content area where you would like students to access the LinkedIn Learning course.
  7. Select the Build Content menu and choose the Item option.

  8. Give the item a name and select the Source Code button on the content editor.

  9. Paste the code from LinkedIn Learning into the Source Code box, then delete the lines as shown below; these are highlighted in yellow on the screenshot:

Please Note: If the above code is not deleted the video will not embed properly and the video will not be visible once you click Submit.
  1. Click Save. The embedded video will appear within the content editor.
  2. Add any additional content or file attachments, then select your standard options and click Submit.

  3. The course item with the embedded video will appear at the bottom of your content area page.
Please Note: Sharing via embed code will only display the first video in the course (or the video where you clicked the Share button in LinkedIn Learning). If you want your students to view the entire course, you will need to direct them to click the course name beneath the video or use the above instructions to embed each video in the course to your Blackboard page.

How to Share a LinkedIn Learning Collection

If you or a LinkedIn Learning administrator has created a Collection, you can share that with your students via a direct link.

  1. Access LinkedIn Learning and select the Browse option at the top left of the page.

  2. Select Missouri State University from the menu.

  3. Scroll down to the Collections from Missouri State University section and select Show All.

  4. Click on the desired collection to open it then select the Share button on the right side of the page.

  5. Copy the link that is shown.

  6. Navigate to your Blackboard course and decide how you want your students to access the Collection. You have two main options:
    1. Add a web link to your course menu.
      1. Select the circled plus sign button from the top left of the course menu.
      2. Click the Web Link option.

      3. Give the link a name and paste the link from LinkedIn Learning in the URL box. 
      4. Check the Available to Users box and click Submit.

      5. The web link will appear at the bottom of your course menu. You can hover to the left of the link name to drag it to a different location on your course menu.
