How to Use Respondus LockDown Browser on Managed Chromebooks

Respondus LockDown Browser® for Chromebook is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment within the learning management system. When students use LockDown Browser to access an assessment, they are unable to print, copy, go to another URL, or access other applications. Students are locked into an assessment until it is submitted for grading.

LockDown Browser for Chromebook is currently available for Blackboard Learn, Canvas, and Schoology. It is a Chrome Extension that can only be run in kiosk mode when the Chromebooks are centrally managed with Chrome Device Management.

Please Note: The instructions below only apply to Chromebooks owned and managed by the University. If you have a personal Chromebook please refer to How to Use Respondus LockDown Browser on a Chromebook. If you are unsure if your Chromebook is managed by the University contact the department that issued you the Chromebook.
