How to Switch to Compatibility Mode in Internet Explorer

While you can use Microsoft's guide for adding the BDM Web Access site (ct.missouristate.edu) to your Compatibility View list, doing so will make all sites on the missouristate.edu domain display in compatibility view, including My Missouri State. This will make many of those sites display a warning that your web browser is out of date. To avoid this, follow the instructions below to add only the BDM Web Access site to compatibility view.

Step-by-Step Guide

How to Switch to Compatibility Mode in Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer 11

  1. Open Internet Explorer, click on the gear icon in the top-right for the drop-down list, and select Compatibility View Settings.

    4. Windows Components
    5. Internet Explorer
    6. Compatibility View
  4. In the right-hand pane, double click the setting Use Policy List of Internet Explorer 7 sites.
  5. Change the policy from Not Configured to Enabled.
  6. Under the options, click the Show button next to List of Sites.
  7. Add ct.missouristate.edu to the list of sites. Click OK.
  8. Close the group policy editor.
  9. Log off of your computer and sign back in to apply the new policy.
  10. Now, when you navigate to BDM Web Access, it should open in Compatibility View and run normally, while the rest of the missouristate.edu domain uses the normal Internet Explorer view.
